Upazila Social Service Office Shahjadpur, Sirajganj
Shahjadpur Upazila Social Service Office is one of the important departments related to human resource development, poverty alleviation, welfare, development and empowerment of backward people of this upazila. To introduce Bangladesh as a welfare state, the Upazila Social Service Office, Shahjadpur is implementing old age allowance, widow allowance, disability allowance and assistance to persons with disabilities and acid burn. Upazila Social Service Office Shahjadpur Is also implementing activities to develop as well as backward sections, unemployed, landless, orphans, destitute, homeless, social, intelligent and physically challenged persons, poor, helpless patients and vulnerable children in both rural and urban areas of the upazila.
02. In accordance with Article 15 (d) of the Constitution of Bangladesh, the Upazila Social Service Office, Shahjadpur is implementing all these activities in coordination with other government departments and agencies. Activities have been undertaken to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Vision 2021 and the goals set out in the Seventh Five Year Plan.
03. In this upazila 15841 old age allowance, 5701 widow and husband abused women allowance, 5329 indigent disabled allowance, 5 hijra special allowance, 50 special allowance for backward people and a total of 230 indigent disabled and backward students at different levels. Receive stipend. Capitation grants are also provided to private orphanages, including management of heroic freedom fighters' honorarium, registration of voluntary social welfare organizations, regulation and financial assistance. At present, the office is implementing 28 types of programs and has sent proposals for launching 08 more programs.
